Gun buyback (and "safe surrender") Events get unwanted guns out of our communities
Why gun buybacks?
-
Many homes contain unwanted and potentially dangerous firearms.
-
Any gun in a home can be stolen, or used to intimidate or injure, or used for suicide, or found by a child if improperly stored.
-
Gun buyback/safe surrender events provide a safe means to dispose of guns.
-
Guns are collected anonymously.
-
Collected guns will ultimately be destroyed.
-
Gift cards may be offered for operable guns collected.
How can you help?
You can help by HOSTING
Faith communities and other organizations across America are hosting gun buyback events to provide the public a safe and meaningful opportunity for disposing of unwanted guns. If your faith community or organization would like to learn more, please let us know.
You can help by VOLUNTEERING
Gun buyback events require a number of volunteers to greet donors, provide information to them, distribute gift cards, and direct traffic.
These events also require persons able to safely operate a CHOPSAW for the destruction of weapons onsite. We also welcome persons with skill in BLACKSMITHING and/or METALWORKING to transform gun pieces into instruments of peace. (Interested in blacksmith training for this purpose? We may be able to help.)
You can help by DONATING
Donations to God Before Guns are always welcome. Go HERE to donate.
